The Interprofessional Organisation for Eggs and Egg Products (Inprovo) has confirmed its participation in FIGAN 2025, where it will organise an important technical conference dedicated to insurance for laying poultry farms, a topic of growing relevance for the sector in the face of increasing health, climatic and market risks.
“Inprovo will deliver an important talk on insurance for laying poultry farms, addressing key aspects of risk management in the sector”
The technical conference organised by Inprovo will take place on Wednesday, 26 March, from 17:00 to 19:00, within the framework of the extensive programme of training activities at FIGAN 2025. During the session, experts from the insurance sector and representatives of Inprovo will analyse the different insurance options available for laying farms, as well as specific coverage for the main risks that can affect a farm or the entire sector, such as avian influenza.
Among the topics to be addressed at the conference, the following stand out:
- Public liability insurance: Specific coverage for laying poultry farms, including liability for third-party damages, accidental contamination and food safety.
- Farm operation insurance: Analysis of policies covering damage to facilities, equipment and animals, including coverage for fire, weather events, flooding and other risks.
- Disease and epizootic insurance: Insurance options against disease outbreaks such as avian influenza, which can have a devastating impact on farming operations.
- Business interruption insurance: Coverage guaranteeing farm income in the event of losses that cause an interruption of operations.
The conference will also include an analysis of the public subsidies available for taking out agricultural insurance, as well as practical recommendations for optimising the protection of laying poultry farms against the various risks.
The main regulatory developments affecting the laying poultry sector will also be addressed at the conference.
