Tribute to José A. Castelló and Conference on POULTRY FARMING IN 2040 organised by AVIALTER at FIGAN

Professor Carlos Buxadé Carbó will chair the 10th AviAlter Technical Conference, at which a panel of experts will debate POULTRY FARMING IN 2040, and at which Professor José A. Castelló Llobet will be honoured for his entire professional career

The AviAlter association will shortly be holding the tenth edition of its Technical Conference, entitled “Poultry Farming in 2040”. The event will be chaired by the distinguished Professor Carlos Buxadé Carbó and will take place within the framework of FIGAN 2025.

The conference will open on Thursday, 27 March 2025 at 16:30 with a panel of leading poultry industry experts, including Pablo Bernardos Hernández, representing the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), José Carlos Terraz Cuenca from AviAlter, María del Mar Fernández Poza from INPROVO, and Alberto Díez Michelena from the National Association for Animal Defence (ANDA). The speakers will discuss future prospects for the poultry sector towards 2040, addressing challenges and opportunities in sustainable growth, animal welfare and market trends.

At 17:30, a special tribute will be paid to Mr José Antonio Castelló Llobet, who will be in attendance, recognising his career and significant contributions to the poultry industry. A lunch will follow for all attendees.

The event will be chaired by the distinguished Prof. Carlos Buxadé Carbó and will take place within the framework of the FIGAN 2025 trade fair. The aim of this technical conference is to provide a comprehensive overview of the trends and challenges that poultry farming will face in the coming decades, with emphasis on key aspects such as sustainability, animal welfare and international outreach.

The conference also has the support and collaboration of major industry stakeholders, including Artoa, CAM, Cemosa, New Farms, NutriAvanza, Layers Ibérica, NutriAvanza, Ingeniería Avícola, among others, underscoring the strategic importance of and sector interest in this flagship event.

The session will conclude with a round table and open debate with attendees, facilitating interaction and discussion on projections for poultry farming towards 2040.

The Professional Association for Alternative Poultry Farming, which represents producers of eggs and poultry meat in alternative systems, aims through this conference to promote knowledge and the adoption of sustainable practices in the poultry sector, in response to growing consumer demand for products with greater added value in terms of animal welfare and sustainability.

The conference is aimed both at producers already operating under alternative systems and at those operating under conventional systems, as well as technicians, veterinarians, consultants and other industry professionals interested in learning about the latest trends in alternative poultry farming.

Attendance at the conference is free of charge. It will be held in Room P9, Hall 9, on Thursday, 27 March 2025, from 16:30 onwards.
