Grupo AN at the 17th edition of FIGAN

The International Fair for Animal Production took place from Tuesday the 25th to Friday the 28th in Zaragoza
More than 60,000 visitors attended the event, at which Grupo AN has had its own stand since 2011

Grupo AN has consolidated its presence at the leading livestock fair in southern Europe. At Figan 2025, held during the last week of March, the cooperative once again had its own stand, which was visited by hundreds of attendees. Professionals from Grupo AN, primarily from the Poultry Division, Piensos Caceco, the Insurance Brokerage, and the Aragon regional office, spent the four days of the fair attending cooperative members, farmers and livestock producers, clients and suppliers, as well as all those who stopped by the corporate stand — including the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, among other dignitaries.

Figan has become the largest meeting point for the livestock sector in the southern part of the continent. The event, which takes place every two years at the Zaragoza Trade Fair, featured in its seventeenth edition more than 1,200 exhibiting brands from 25 countries, showcasing their products and services to nearly 50,000 trade visitors across 65,000 square metres of exhibition space.

The figures speak for themselves regarding the scale of the event, but beyond that, Figan has become firmly established over the years as an unrivalled meeting point for strengthening ties with member cooperatives, livestock producers and farmers, as well as for establishing commercial contacts and reinforcing Grupo AN’s profile in the region.

At this edition of Figan, held from Tuesday the 25th to Friday the 28th of March, Grupo AN once again had its own stand, as it has done since 2011. Hundreds of visitors passed through, attended by the Grupo AN professionals who attended this year’s fair: primarily from the Poultry Division, Piensos Caceco and the Insurance Brokerage, as well as from the Aragon regional office.

In addition to trade visitors, on the opening day the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, visited the stand, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Miguel Ruiz, and the Director General of Agricultural Production and Markets at the ministry, Elena Busutil, as well as the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food of the Government of Aragon, Javier Rincón, among other dignitaries. They spent a few minutes with the Grupo AN professionals present at the stand, including the Director of AN Avícola Mélida, Iokin Zuloaga, the Aragon Regional Delegate, Juan Pueyo, the Livestock Director, Javier Lacalle, and Ismael Marzo, veterinarian for the Poultry Division of Grupo AN and President of Aviar, the Aragon Poultry Association.

Throughout the remaining three days of the fair, footfall at the Grupo AN exhibition space remained steady. Wednesday and Thursday, the central days of the event, recorded the highest visitor numbers.

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, visited the Grupo AN stand on the first day of the fair, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Miguel Ruiz, the Director General of Agricultural Production and Markets, Elena Busutil, and the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food of the Government of Aragon, Javier Rincón, among other dignitaries

The Figan organisers placed particular emphasis on their commitment to the future of the sector, with one of the event’s main objectives being the attraction of young talent. In this regard, as a new initiative, the Figan Conecta Talento space was launched — a showcase for innovation and entrepreneurship in the livestock sector. It featured roundtable discussions on topics such as robotisation, artificial intelligence and animal welfare; forums connecting young people with companies in the sector; and networking sessions between startups, established businesses and young professionals to address the challenges ahead.
