Free 3-hour course on Avian Influenza in Spanish

FAO has available until 31 Dec. 2024 an open-access online course on Introduction to Avian Influenza in Spanish. This course has been developed by the FAO Virtual Learning Centre (VLC) and implemented in its first edition by the FAO VLC Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean.

It is an introductory course, in Spanish, designed for veterinary professionals and technicians, and also of interest to poultry farmers and poultry industry workers. The aim of the course is to raise awareness of avian influenza and build capacity for its detection and prevention. The interactive modules of the course are as follows:

1: Why is avian influenza important?
2: How is avian influenza transmitted?
3: What are the clinical signs of avian influenza?
4: If avian influenza is suspected, how should it be investigated?
5: How can avian influenza be prevented?
6: Avian influenza control measures

Once the mandatory parts of the course have been completed, a final assessment must be taken. Upon passing it with at least 70% correct answers, a certificate of course completion can be downloaded.

The course is available from 24/04/2024 to 31/12/2024. Participants will be able to review the content and study the learning materials at their own pace.
