Call for aid for local hen egg production in the Canary Islands
The Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) published on 2 December the Extract of the Order calling for aid under Action III.11, entitled “Aid for local hen egg production”, for the 2025 campaign. This Extract of the Order of 21 November 2025 was published by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty.
Objective and regulatory basis
The main purpose of this call is to promote laying poultry farming in the Canary Islands under the same conditions as in any other European region, seeking to offset the costs arising from the archipelago’s outermost region status. These aids form part of the Community Support Programme for Agricultural Production in the Canary Islands (POSEI). The call shall be governed by the regulatory bases approved by the Order of 28 November 2017 of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Water.
Beneficiaries and amounts
Eligible beneficiaries of this aid include farmers, both individual and those grouped into a Producer Group or Producer Organisation, provided they produce and market hen eggs within the Canary Islands. In addition, applicants must meet all the eligibility requirements and conditions set out in the call.
Regarding the amount, the unit aid rate established is €0.08 per dozen hen eggs produced and marketed on the islands.
Aid supplement
A 10% aid supplement is available on the amounts due to beneficiaries. To receive this supplement, beneficiaries must have received the young farmer installation aid from the Rural Development Programme (RDP) in the current campaign or in any of the four preceding ones, and must maintain that status throughout the campaign covered by the aid.
Deadline and submission of applications
Applications to participate in this call must be submitted within the period running from 15 to 31 January 2026, inclusive.
Applications must be submitted electronically. Applicants must use the standardised application form, accessible through the electronic register of the Public Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands (sede.gobiernodecanarias.org/sede/).
