The ambitious project by Seville-based company Aviserrano to complete construction of the new mega poultry processing complex in La Carlota, Córdoba, under the AviNatur brand, now has an estimated opening date: between March and April 2026.
This initiative represents an investment of over 60 million euros and will specialise in the slaughter and processing of chicken and turkey. The CEO of Grupo Aviserrano, Alfonso Serrano, has stated that once at full operational capacity, the facility is expected to reach a production capacity of 12,500 chickens and 2,500 turkeys per hour. With a high processing capacity and a growth strategy aimed at doubling turnover by 2028, the project is designed to reinforce the leadership of Aviserrano (Grupo AVINATUR) in the meat sector. The impact will be significant, encompassing the local supply chain and attracting business attention to the municipality.
The plant, located in the Parque Empresarial Nuevas Poblaciones, will require the recruitment of between 1,000 and 1,500 new workers, and will also necessitate the creation of additional broiler and turkey poultry farms throughout the province of Córdoba and surrounding areas to secure supply.

This mega poultry complex will include slaughterhouses (for chickens and turkeys), cut-up rooms and further-processing facilities for poultry meat.
Grupo Aviserrano, a benchmark in the national market for chicken and turkey meat and processed products, is finalising preparations for the 2026 inauguration of its new macro poultry processing plant in La Carlota (Córdoba). The Seville-based company estimates that its major project, which will operate under the commercial name AviNatur, will be up and running between April and May 2026. The new meat processing facility will include a slaughterhouse and a cut-up room.
A brief history of GRUPO AVISERRANO
Grupo Aviserrano is among Spain’s leading poultry producers and also has the objective of breaking into international markets. The business conglomerate brings together a large group of professionals with extensive prior experience in broiler and turkey production, led by CEO Alfonso Serrano. Built through the acquisition of already established companies in the sector — Paviso Alimentación, Avinatur, Pinchos Jovi and Tomás Guerrero — the group has also created entirely new businesses, such as Serrano Protein and Logialcor, in pursuit of greater diversification and to open the door to the circular economy.
Aviserrano acquired 190,000 m² to allow for possible future expansions or construction of new satellite units
Aviserrano’s project is a powerful economic driver for the region, with an investment of over 60 million euros. The facility is being built in the Parque Empresarial Nuevas Poblaciones, alongside the A-4 motorway. The company acquired a plot of nearly 190,000 m², of which the macro-plant’s facilities will occupy more than 30,000 square metres. The poultry processing factory will specialise in chicken and turkey and is expected to reach a production capacity of 12,500 chickens and 2,500 turkeys per hour. Business objectives include increasing production, reinvesting and growing in the turkey sector. Alfonso Serrano, CEO of Grupo Aviserrano, noted that the La Carlota location allows the company to take advantage of land availability and logistics, facilitating growth and raising the group’s profile. The increase in production will require the construction of additional poultry farms throughout the province, generating a “knock-on effect across the poultry sector“.

In 2024 Aviserrano already acquired a poultry processing company: La Carloteña
As part of its strategy, Grupo Aviserrano strengthened its position in February 2024 with the acquisition of shares in the Córdoba-based firm La Carloteña. This decision reflects the Seville group’s commitment to diversification and value-added products. La Carloteña, known for its roasted poultry processed products, has already launched an expansion project with an investment of 9 million euros. La Carloteña is also located in the Parque Empresarial Nuevas Poblaciones and plans to expand its facilities following the acquisition of an adjacent plot of 20,000 m².
The union of these two Andalusian companies aims to double La Carloteña’s current turnover, growing from 31.5 million to over 60 million euros by 2028.
