Atlanta’s IPPE, the Largest Poultry Trade Show in the Americas, Opens Its Doors in Just a Few Days

A Guide for Poultry Industry Professionals Attending in 2025

The International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) is the largest event on poultry, animal production and processing in the entire Americas and one of the world’s largest trade shows on the subject.  Every January — it is an annual event — it turns Atlanta into a global gathering for innovation, networking and learning within the powerful US poultry industry and much of the world. It brings together professionals from every link in the poultry supply chain. With thousands of exhibitors and attendees, IPPE has become an indispensable platform for discovering the latest advances in the US and global poultry industry in production, processing and sustainability. This year’s edition takes place from 28 to 30 January 2025.

IPPE by the Numbers

Before diving into what to expect for 2025, let us take a look at IPPE’s impact in previous years:

– 2024 Highlights:
  – 31,353 attendees, of whom 9,063 visitors came from outside the US — 28% — representing all sectors of the poultry, meat and feed industries.
  – 1,432 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge innovations in production, processing, packaging and more.
  – 57,865 m2 of exhibition space dedicated to technology, services and solutions.

– Growth Over the Years:
  – Attendance has grown steadily, with a 15% increase in international visitors over the past five years.
  – Poultry-specific segments consistently attract more than 50% of total attendees, reflecting global interest in the king of proteins.

Cutting-Edge Poultry Technology

At the heart of IPPE lies much of the technology that has driven the poultry industry to expand across the globe.
In 2025, you can expect:

Automation in poultry processing: With labour challenges on the rise, exhibitors such as Marel, Meyn and BAADER will present robotic and AI-based systems that enhance efficiency and precision in processing. This is of particular interest at the current time, as with Trump in the White House pressure against illegal immigration will increase, resulting in poultry processing plants having access to less cheap labour and therefore needing to accelerate their transition towards increasingly automated slaughter and poultry meat processing systems.
Smart animal production solutions: Companies offering IoT-based systems for real-time monitoring of flock performance, feed intake and environmental conditions will be in the spotlight.
Energy-efficient systems: Sustainability will be a key theme, with energy solutions such as solar ventilation systems and efficient equipment for hatcheries.

Innovations in Poultry Health and Nutrition

Health and nutrition are fundamental to achieving optimal flock performance. At IPPE 2025 you will find:
– Feed additives: Leading companies such as Cargill, Alltech and DSM will present feeding solutions that reduce antibiotic dependence while improving gut health and feed conversion.
Biosecurity tools: In light of growing concerns over avian influenza, exhibitors will showcase new vaccines, rapid diagnostic tools and pathogen control systems.
Waste conversion technologies: Solutions for converting poultry waste into bioenergy or organic fertilisers will reflect the industry’s focus on sustainability.

 Sustainability and Animal Welfare

Sustainability remains a key priority for the poultry sector. In 2025, the show will highlight:
Innovations in cage-free systems: Responding to social and animal welfare group demands, laying hen equipment exhibitors such as Vencomatic and Big Dutchman, among others, will showcase free-range and enriched colony systems for laying hens.
Carbon footprint reduction: Discover low-emission feeding systems, water conservation technologies and strategies for implementing circular economy practices.
Certification guidance: Many exhibitors and seminars will help producers obtain certifications such as Global Animal Partnership (GAP).

 Training Opportunities

IPPE is not just an exhibition — it is also an opportunity to learn from industry leaders. Among the conferences taking place during the same week as IPPE, we highlight:

-. The Latin American Poultry Summit discusses global trends influencing the management of Latin American poultry companies. This year’s theme is “Factors Affecting the Efficient Marketing of Poultry”. On Monday, 27 January, it will address prominent technical topics covering the economic, production and processing issues of highest priority for Latin American broiler and egg producers and processors. The Summit brings together leaders from genetics companies, suppliers, integrators and academics to learn, discuss and network.
