Last May, the Asociación Avícola Valenciana (ASAV), a non-profit organisation established in 1992, announced the appointment of Mr David Gargallo as Executive Secretary. With a solid background in chemistry and over 15 years of outstanding experience in the agri-food sector of the Valencian Community, Gargallo has played a crucial role in the implementation of the Trichinella control programme and the management of the Animal Feed division at CECAV, as well as participating as a speaker in various sector training initiatives.
This new appointment promises to strengthen the representation, management, defence and promotion of the interests of the Valencian poultry sector, in line with the functions and structure of ASAV. The association, which operates under Organic Law 1/2002, is governed by a General Assembly and a Board of Directors, currently chaired by Mr Javier Monterde Cremades of Huevos Monterde, S.L.U., and with Mr Pedro Luis Guillén Gil of Huevos Guillén, S.L. as secretary.
ASAV manages a balanced annual budget of 200,000 euros, allocating resources to the promotion, research, development and innovation of the poultry sector. With the vision of fostering a favourable legal framework and promoting the poultry sector as a differentiated productive unit, ASAV works in conjunction with CECAV and maintains close ties with the leading poultry organisations in Spain.
