From 19 to 23 October 2024, the SIAL Paris Trade Fair was held, known as the “Salon International de l’Alimentation“. It is one of the most important events worldwide in the food industry. Held every two years in Paris, it attracts more than 285,000 visitors and over 7,000 exhibitors from more than 130 countries, making it a key platform for food innovation, networking and the showcasing of new products and global trends.
SIAL Paris: trends and networking
SIAL is not only a showcase for innovation in the food industry, but also a forum where the challenges and opportunities facing the sector are discussed, such as sustainability, food technology and consumer trends. This event brings together food industry professionals, from manufacturers to distributors and retailers, enabling the formation of partnerships and large-scale commercial agreements. In its 60th anniversary edition, SIAL 2024 also stands out for its focus on corporate social responsibility (CSR), with special awards recognising companies that lead in responsible innovation.
One of the main highlights of the fair has been its innovation programme, “SIAL Innovation“, which serves as a global observatory for new food products. Innovative products that are revolutionising the market are recognised with awards, making SIAL a crucial event for companies wishing to stay at the forefront of trends in the food industry.

Poultry products at SIAL
The poultry sector has a prominent presence at SIAL, particularly within the meat products category. At SIAL 2024, more than 700 exhibitors from the meat sector, including poultry, are expected to showcase innovative products reflecting current trends in meat consumption, such as more sustainable, ethical and health-oriented products. The consumption of poultry products remains an integral part of the global diet, especially in emerging markets where demand for animal protein continues to grow.
Spanish companies in attendance
Spain has always had a strong representation at SIAL Paris. In the 2024 edition, 161 Spanish companies participated, of which 140 were located in the Official Spanish Pavilion. Many of these companies come from regions such as Murcia and Aragón, and are prominent in the production of meat products.
Some of the Spanish companies present at SIAL 2024 include leading players in the meat and poultry sector, with notable participants including BON AREA, COREN and GRUPO VALL COMPANYS, all seeking to leverage the fair as a platform to expand their international reach and consolidate new commercial partnerships.
This biennial fair, held every two years, offers opportunities to explore the latest innovations, strengthen commercial ties and keep abreast of the global trends shaping the future of the food industry.
