Regulatory Review Workshop – FEED PRODUCTION LEGAL REGULATIONS

On 21 February 2025, the Inter-Regional Association of Compound Feed Manufacturers of Valencia, Castellón, Albacete and Teruel (ASFAVAC) will hold the 12th edition of its specialist course “Legal Regulatory Review of Feed Production” at the Poultry Quality and Animal Nutrition Centre of the Valencian Community (CECAV), located in Alquerías del Niño Perdido (Castellón). This training programme is designed to train and update the knowledge of nutritionists, veterinarians, quality and production managers, as well as plant directors and poultry farm managers, on the latest regulations affecting feed manufacturing in the poultry and livestock sector.

Course content and objectives:

  • Additive updates: The session will cover additives authorised up to 2025 for use in animal nutrition, with particular focus on preservatives, natural substances, nutritional additives, zootechnical additives and coccidiostats.
  • Control of undesirable substances: The latest guidelines on the presence of mycotoxins, heavy metals and other substances that may affect feed safety will be addressed.
  • Medicated feedingstuffs: A dedicated section will cover regulations on cross-contamination of antimicrobial active substances, and the established withdrawal periods will be reviewed in accordance with the new Regulation 2024/1225, applicable from May 2025.

This training has been designed for professionals in the poultry and livestock industry who require regulatory updates and technical knowledge in feed production, including quality directors and technicians, veterinarians, inspectors, and those responsible for production and additive formulation.

Featured speaker:
The course will feature the participation of Mr Mariano Gorrachategui García, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Spanish Confederation of Compound Animal Feed Manufacturers (CESFAC), who will bring his expertise in regulatory interpretation and the application of best practices in the industry.

Programme and logistical details:

  • Schedule: From 08:00 to 15:00, including a coffee break and lunch.
  • Venue: Poultry Quality and Animal Nutrition Centre of the Valencian Community (CECAV), in Alquerías del Niño Perdido (Castellón).
  • Registration fee: €170 for ASFAVAC/CESFAC members and €185 for non-members.
  • Subsidies: The course is eligible for subsidisation through the Social Security system.
  • Registration and accommodation: The organisers recommend the Hotel Sercotel Plana Parc, a short drive from the course venue, for those requiring overnight accommodation.
