“Prevention is better than cure”: free webinar on AI this Friday 25th

As part of the BroilerNet project, the webinar “Avian Influenza (AI): Prevention is better than cure” will take place on Friday 25 April, and the entire poultry sector is invited to attend.


“Prevention is better than cure”: a call to the entire poultry sector for a free webinar on avian influenza

Under the motto “prevention is better than cure”, the European project BroilerNet and the Catalan Poultry Federation invite veterinarians, producers and professionals linked to the poultry industry to the webinar “Avian Influenza (AI): Prevention is better than cure”, to be held on Friday 25 April, from 10:00 to 12:00 h (CET).

The event — which will be broadcast live via Zoom and recorded — will address the current situation regarding highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreaks, the main risk factors at farm level, and the tools available to mitigate them.

  • Prof. Jean-Luc Guerin
    National Veterinary College of Toulouse (France). EBVS® Specialist in Avian Veterinary Science and head of the “host-pathogen interactions” research unit (INRAE-ENVT).
  • Dr. Natàlia Majó-Masferrer
    Director of IRTA-CReSA (Barcelona). EBVS® Specialist in Veterinary Pathology and Avian Veterinary Science; lecturer at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
  • Dr. Barbara Grabkowsky
    Transformation Centre for Sustainability in Intensive Farming Areas (trafo:agrar, Vechta, Germany). Creator of the online AI risk factor verification tool, awarded “BroilerNet Champion” 2024.

BroilerNet is a four-year project funded by the European Union bringing together partners from 13 countries — from both the broiler sector and the research community — with the aim of strengthening the resilience and sustainability of European poultry farming.
