HIPRA strengthens its leadership with four new strategic appointments

The company now has Carles Fàbrega as General Manager of the Human Health Division and Peter Saey as General Manager of the Animal Health Division.

The biopharmaceutical company HIPRA has announced the promotion of two profiles and the addition of two new members to its management team. These strategic appointments are the result of the growth plan in which the company is currently engaged. These changes, initiated with the creation of two independent divisions (Human Health and Animal Health), represent a decisive step in HIPRA’s strategy in response to new global health challenges.

Promotions:

Carles Fàbrega takes on the role of General Manager of the Human Health Division. With more than 20 years of experience at HIPRA, Fàbrega has been involved in the company’s international expansion project as director of the subsidiaries in Brazil and the Philippines, and subsequently serving as the group’s Marketing Director. In addition, over recent years he has already been heading the business team of HIPRA’s Human Health Division.

In parallel, the Animal Health Division is led by Peter Saey, General Manager of the Animal Health Division. Saey has a career spanning more than 15 years in key positions within the company, the first five as Corporate Director of Subsidiaries and the following ten as Regional Director for Asia and Oceania at HIPRA group.

New appointments:

The company has brought in two new profiles: Carlota Gómez, as Executive Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, and Eduard Viladesau, who joins as General Manager of HIPRA Biotech Services, the new contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) unit.

Gómez joins HIPRA as Executive Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability and will be part of the HIPRA group’s Executive Committee. Gómez comes to HIPRA from Bayer, where she has worked for the past 17 years in leadership positions. Over the last four years, she has held the role of Head of International Communications. Gómez will bring her expertise in Corporate Affairs, Brand Management and Reputation at this transformative moment for the company.

For his part, Viladesau joins after 18 years at Boston Consulting Group, where he developed his activity within the Operations practice for the pharmaceutical industry and led the CDMO area. His appointment will be key to driving this new unit, which reinforces HIPRA’s commitment to quality and excellence in the development of biological products.

The addition of these executives, together with the promotions announced, reinforces HIPRA’s strategic vision of attracting and developing highly qualified talent, both internal and external, in order to remain at the forefront of the market. With this new structure, the company consolidates the foundations needed to successfully meet the challenges of the future.
