Feria de Zaragoza restructures its organisation: Ana Hernández adds the Business Development area to her remit

The organising body of FIGAN, Feria de Zaragoza, continues to advance in its organisational renewal process with the expansion of responsibilities for its deputy director general, Ana Hernández Serena. Appointed to this post in January 2025, Hernández now also assumes direct responsibility for the Business Development area, which had until now been led by Alberto López.

This move responds, according to the trade fair institution, to the desire to reinforce its growth strategy and optimise the management of its key areas of activity. Specifically, the deputy general directorate will henceforth encompass the departments of Business Development, Digital Transformation, and Marketing and Communications, further strengthening Hernández’s central role within the senior management team.

Ana is a pioneer in the creation of entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability programmes for various institutions and organisations. She has also developed strategic projects in sectors such as tourism development, personal skills training and online consultancy, generating a sustainable and lasting impact.
An active member of the Board of Directors of Aragón, she leads initiatives such as the “Soy Futuro” programme for young people and “ProyectA”, focused on the development of women leaders.

It’s all about people. With this philosophy, Ana Hernández Serena takes on this new challenge at Feria de Zaragoza, with the mission of applying her knowledge and experience to the trade fair sector, which faces a crucial moment of transformation. “The trade fair sector needs to adapt to new market demands and changes, and I am excited to contribute to this evolution alongside a team of outstanding professionals,” she stated.

The departure of Alberto López, who is leaving the organisation following this restructuring, has been accompanied by a message of recognition from Feria de Zaragoza, which has expressed its gratitude for his work over the years and highlighted the achievements accomplished under his leadership.

The institution emphasises that these changes mark “the beginning of a new chapter”, framed within its commitment to modernisation and the strategic role that the Feria plays as an economic and social driver for Aragón.

The new structure also incorporates other significant changes made at the beginning of the year. Álvaro Cardemil, a professional with three decades of experience, has since then been heading the Marketing and Communications department. Meanwhile, Óscar Matute leads the Technology (IT) area, with the objective of accelerating the digital transformation of the organisation.

Feria de Zaragoza thus embarks on a phase of consolidation and evolution, with a renewed senior management team focused on strengthening its position as a benchmark trade fair venue in southern Europe.
